Hubbard Ice Systems has launched a range of Scotsman water filters specifically designed for icemakers. The filters, manufactured by Everpure to Scotsman's specifications, feature a special 'SSM' filtration system that ensures crystal-clear and 'healthier' ice, whilst increasing the working life of the icemaker.
Water is the only ingredient used to make ice, so the quality of your ice depends on the quality of your water. The new Scotsman filters offer one-half micron filtration, removing any odours and tastes as well as 99% of chlorine from the mains supply. The SSM filter also traps minute particles of dirt and rust, significantly reducing the build up of limescale, the Number One cause of maintenance problems in all icemakers.

"The combination of a Scotsman filter by Everpure and a Scotsman icemaker guarantees the most reliable supply of premium quality ice on the market".
Hubbard will be offering a choice of filters designed to work with any of the units in its Scotsman range - which has more than 400 models - with ice production rates of less than 10kg to more than 2,000kg per day. The choice of filter depends not only on volume of ice but also the type of ice being produced. For example, the SSM single filter, the smallest in the range, is designed to cope with cubers producing up to 90kg of ice per day, and flakers or nugget icemakers making up to 200kg per day.
As well as delivering better quality ice and ensuring that your icemaker works more efficiently and reliably, the Scotsman filters are designed to be as easy to install as possible. Hubbard will offer them as a recommended optional extra with all Scotsman icemakers, and the company points out that they can be retrofitted to an existing icemaker.
