Talented Performers Put On A Show

11/11/2007

RAC 2003; Halls 18 & 19 NEC Birmingham; February 25-27 2003

The Scotsman Easyfit range has changed the way ice machines are installed forever. Hubbard Ice Systems will launch the two latest models, the EC125 and EC175, at RAC 2003. Another Scotsman making its RAC debut is the new MV450, a high volume modular machine with good looks to match a talented performance.

As well as new icemakers, Hubbard will be launching several new ice system accessories. They include the latest Scotsman modular ice storage bin, which has a narrow profile allowing installation in smaller spaces, and the Crushman, a brand new ice crusher.

Visitors will also be able to check out a wide range of Hubbard's ice systems, from the Scotsman TC180 'cubelet' ice and water dispenser, to its market-leading back bar machines, to flake machines for food display, to its comprehensive range of water filters. Specialists with expertise in all market sectors will be on hand to discuss any ice application: leisure, hospitality, manufacturing, fishing, medical, transport or retail.

2003 is the first RAC for Scotsman's remarkable Easyfit machines, and the new models are bound to create a buzz. As the name suggests, Easyfit sets new standards in ease of installation, thanks to a clever integral pump system. Indeed, they're the first commercial ice machines that don't need to be sited higher than the drains outlet - they can even be sited below the drains, if required.

The EC125 and EC175 launched at the Show complete the Easyfit range, making a total of six models. The EC175 is the largest, with an output of up to 86Kg (189lb) of ice per day. Like the ACM machines they are based on, all the EC models make gourmet 'supercubes': the crystal cellar, long lasting thimble-shaped cubes that are the barman's acknowledged favourite, enhancing the appearance of the drink while chilling effectively.

The new Scotsman MV450 makes dice (square-shaped) cubes, delivering a very high production rate from a compact design - the machine itself measures just 760mm wide x 620mm deep x 575mm high. However, what sets it apart from standard modular machines are its fashionable curves and graceful lines, making it perfect for front of house use in fast food outlets and high street diners and for any 'kitchen theatre' catering sites.

As you would expect from Hubbard, this new Scotsman is both energy- and water-efficient. Reliability and lower maintenance costs are ensured by features such as the automatic hygiene system that flushes water from the reservoir during every cycle, reducing the danger of scale build-up. Both water and air-cooled versions are available, with maximum daily production of up to 215Kg (475lbs), or around 15,350 cubes.

The MV450 will be mounted on the new Scotsman B393 storage bin. The B393 matches the MV's attractive good looks and features a new 'vertical' design, giving a compact footprint of just 825mm by 760mm, allowing it to fit into the narrowest spaces. The bin's door opens along its whole width, allowing easy access to the storage cavity, which will hold up to 150Kg of cubed ice, or 130Kg of flake ice.

Designed for the growing cocktail bar market, the new Crushman ice crusher is compact, quiet, economical to run, with fully adjustable crushed ice settings. Full details of the new machine will be unveiled at RAC 2003.
