Style and Ice
Following the success of the original Scotsman TC180 ice and water dispenser, Scotsman has launched an "ice only" version in the UK. Unlike traditional icemakers, the TC180 is a strikingly attractive model, ideal for front of house use. Despite its small footprint it has giant performance - producing up to 150kg of ice every day.
The new model has the same attractive 'art deco' fascia as the original TC180 and has made the model a hit with fashion conscious operators in every sector, including bars, leisure centres, fast food outlets, motorway service areas and hotels.
The TC180 has also been a big hit in hospitals and the medical sector generally, offering hygienic, genuinely hands-free operation. Once the control panel has been set, all the user does is place a glass or jug under the dispensing tap, and the 'magic eye' automatically dispenses the ice, either continuously or in programmed 'doses' of 5, 10 or 15 second bursts. With no levers or buttons to press, the risk of contamination is kept to an absolute minimum.
The TC180 produces randomly shaped pieces of ice that look attractive and cool drinks effectively. Each 1gm 'cubelet' is made of dry, compacted flake ice. This means it melts slowly preserving the flavour of the drinks for longer.
The TC180's size makes it ideal for countertop siting and incorporates a small storage bin capable of holding up to 5kg of ice.
