Ice Makes a Splash with Hubbard Ice Systems
The latest innovation from Hubbard Ice Systems - the new Scotsman MC8 modular Supercube ice maker -dispenses ice direct from the machine into an ice bucket, so tumbling ice can be used as a focal point in your bar to create a wow factor.
As well as being a visual attraction for customers, the MC8 also provides a hygienic and time-saving solution. The risk of ice contamination is greatly reduced as the only contact with the ice is when serving and valuable time is saved that previously would have been spent refilling your ice bucket.
One of Scotsmans main focuses has always been to allow easier and faster collection of ice cubes through proximity of production and storage to the operator. Hubbard Ice Systems, the sole UK distributor of Scotsman machines, offers a range of under-counter solutions for busy bars and the MC8 follows this trend whilst also adding an exciting new dimension to ice dispense.
Chris Davis, Commercial Director of Hubbard Ice Systems says,"Traditionally, modular units consist of the ice machine and storage bin mounted one on top of the other but the MC8 consists of an ice machine attached to the side, or even above the storage bin.
"It can be installed directly under the counter, at the side of the workstation, or for more dramatic installations it can be suspended so the ice cubes literally fall into an ice bucket on the counter. In Italy I have seen this done so ice falls into a large glass or metal display bowl, which makes a real style statement. While saving precious space, suspending the MC8 also makes ice cubes immediately available to the operator and a spectacle for customers."
With a production capacity of 130kg or 6500 cubes per 24 hours, flexible and ergonomically friendly installation options and maximised speed of service through proximity and reduced manipulation, the MC8 makes ice fun to use and entertaining to watch.
The MC8 measures 694H x 720W x 600D mm (legs + 80) and features Scale-guard, which prevents the build up of scale by using an ingenious flushing system, depositing the scale in a cap from which it can be easily removed. If not removed, scale can cause damage to ice machines preventing them from performing at optimum levels, reducing output and energy efficiency.
The Scotsman Supercubes that the MC8 produces are the perfect choice for pubs, clubs and restaurants. Made in the famous Scotsman thimble shape, they are available in three different sizes. Their clarity makes them the perfect choice for drinks presentation whilst their purity ensures that they are slow melt. Their unique shape means that these cubes are less prone to sticking together in the ice bucket as well as being easier to handle than the more traditional square cube.
Furthermore, the shape of the cubes helps to prevent splashback when the cube is placed in the drink or when carbonated drinks are added, making them ideal for busy bars.
