Hubbard Ice Completes Major Model Upgrade

Hubbard Ice Systems, the sole UK distributor of Scotsman ice machines, has completed the upgrade of its Scotsman Supercube ice-making machines to new and improved 6-Series models, marking the completion of a major investment over the last two years.
The upgrade was carried out by forward-thinking Scotsman Ice Systems to ensure maximum product efficiency, fitness for purpose and customer satisfaction. Each machine has been redesigned from the ground up with a host of additional features aimed at making life easy for users, engineers and installers.
The Scotsman 6-Series consists of eight ACM Subercubers and eight EC Easy-Fit Supercubers.
The small footprint but high capacity 6-Series ACM machines are the perfect solution for a busy bar requiring ice on demand. They are designed to reduce ice-making costs with more storage for less outlay and offer up to 71% more capacity than their predecessors in the Scotsman range.
A mark of Scotsmans groundbreaking design, the Scotsman Easy-FIT machines are unique as the only ice-making machines in the UK to feature a built-in electronic pump for water discharge.
The Easy-FIT range is so called as the machines can be installed in minutes and connect to standard drains so they will fit almost anywhere.
Of particular advantage to many restaurant and bar owners is the fact that, due to their built-in pump, the Easy-FIT machines can be situated in a serving or preparation area up to 1.5m above or below or 20m distant from drains needed to discharge waste. This means that they can be placed in the most convenient position without requiring costly additional plumbing.
The Easy-FIT range mirrors the ACM 6 Series in terms of dimensions and technical specification and both ranges have production capacities from 24Kgs - 145Kgs per 24 hours.
Scotsman ice-making machines are remarkably energy efficient. The day-to-day running costs of the machines offer the potential for significant savings, producing more ice from less energy whilst delivering a notably lower carbon footprint. The machines have large storage capacities and so fewer ice-making cycles are needed throughout the day. This means that many operators may find it beneficial to downsize to a lower production threshold whilst increasing storage with a 6-Series machine.
Chris Davis, Commercial Director of Hubbard Ice Systems, says: "At Hubbard Ice we work hard to ensure Scotsman machines retain their market leading position and do so by listening to customer requirements and regularly upgrading machines accordingly.
“The market is moving on. Space within high profile hospitality locations is becoming more expensive so ice machines have to fit into tighter and tighter spaces and have to be more productive. The 6-Series machines not only deliver on size, but they deliver on performance as well."
The Scotsman Supercube ice cubes produced by the 6-Series machines are the most popular type of ice cubes used for restaurants, pubs and clubs. Made in the famous Scotsman thimble shape, their clarity makes them the perfect choice for drinks presentation; whilst their purity and hardness ensure that they are slow melt. Their unique shape means that these cubes are less prone to sticking together in the ice bucket as well as being easier to handle than the more traditional square cube. Furthermore, the shape of the cubes helps to prevent 'splashback' when the cube is placed in the drink or when carbonated drinks are added, making them ideal for busy bars.
The Scotsman 6-Series models feature Scale-guard, which prevents the build up of scale by using an ingenious flushing system, depositing the scale in a cap from which it can be easily removed. If not removed, scale can cause damage to ice machines preventing them from performing at optimum levels, reducing output and energy efficiency.
Other features of the Scotsman 6-Series machines include an antibacterial pouch and warning lights for early notice of maintenance requirements.
