Hubbard Ice Presents a Prodigy at Hotelympia

08/02/2008

Hubbard Ice Systems launched a new range of Scotsman machines at Hotelympia 2008 that demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to energy efficiency, hygiene and user-friendliness.

Making its debut was the new ultra-green, high efficiency and easy to use MV Prodigy (MVP) 600 Modular Cuber, part of a range of four MVPs, which will be available in the second half of 2008. With industry leading energy consumption the MV Prodigy machines provide significant reductions in utilities costs along with a notably lower carbon footprint.

The MV Prodigy range is an update to the Scotsman MV range of machines and will feature a new MV Prodigy evaporator and control board. Models available in the MV Prodigy range of machines are the MVP 450, 600, 800 and 1000, which have production rates from 215kgs to 485kgs per 24 hours and bin capacities from 150kg to 190kg. All models will produce MV Prodigy Superdice cubes.

In line with Scotsmans commitment to continual product development the existing Scotsman MV range of machines will also benefit from new and improved evaporators.

The high capacity, super quiet MV Prodigy units include an electronically controlled harvest-assist system allowing for faster harvest cycle and higher ice production. The system works by pushing ice cubes out from their mould rather than allowing them to thaw and drop out, saving 10 minutes per cycle.

The machines' user-friendly functions include an external air filter for easy cleaning and the industry's best front access to components, enabling easy servicing and also making it easier to de-scale and sanitise. The MVP's AquaArmor™ built-in antimicrobial protection virtually eliminates bacteria and slime and extends cleaning intervals.

Preventative maintenance and servicing is now foolproof due to the MV Prodigy's state-of-the-art self-monitoring system, which provides up-to-the-minute reporting on the machine's performance, as well as maintenance needs. This latest advance in ice-making uses AutoAlert™ indicator lights to visually display when the machine is producing ice, as well as when it's due for critical maintenance procedures. The external diagnostic light panel makes it easy for anyone to read and understand and provides early notice before emergency failure.

Due to the advanced features of the MV Prodigy's optional SmartBoard™ diagnostic code display, technicians can determine any operating issue quickly, ensuring equipment is fixed correctly the first time and saving customers valuable time as well as money.

The machines also incorporate WaterSense™ adaptive purge control as standard, a patented technology that keeps the ice machine cleaner longer by automatically adjusting the water purge at the end of each cycle. This minimises scale build up in every type of water, reduces water use and cleaning intervals and provides fresher tasting ice.

As an optional extra the MV Prodigys can also be fitted with the VariSmart™ ultrasonic ice level control, which ensures optimal ice levels in the storage bin, providing just the right amount of ice when you need it.

The Scotsman ice machines supplied by Hubbard Ice Systems are built to make compliance easy. Scotsman is an ISO 9002 accredited company whose machines are compliant with the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) and carry the CE mark as well as many international standards.
