Hubbard Ice Launches New and Improved Superflake Ice Machines

28/01/2008

Hubbard Ice Systems, the UK distributor of worldwide brand leading Scotsman Ice Making Machines has launched four new and improved models in its MF range of modular superflake ice machines, ideal for fish and food preparation processes.

The Scotsman MF46, 56, 58 and 68 models offer the same high ice production and low price as the models they have replaced (the MF41, 51, 52 and 62 respectively) but with the benefit of a notably lower height dimension. Being approximately 60mm shorter than their predecessors they can fit into even smaller gaps.

The ice production of the four new machines ranges from 320kg for the MF46 to 1150kg for the MF68.

The Scotsman superflake ice produced by the MF machines combines classic granular flake ice features with the added value of greater refrigeration performance and longer-lasting shelf life typical of lower-humidity ice. It offers the best solution for maintaining refrigerated and moisturised perishables where long-lasting freshness and natural appearance need to be guaranteed.

Traditional static evaporators are unable to cope with the natural shape of flake ice, however the Scotsman Co-Axial-ice system incorporates a vertical, cylindrical evaporator with an auger that extrudes ice flakes through a bronze ice-breaker, removing excess humidity from the ice flakes. This proven technology is acknowledged as the best guarantee of constant ice quality and long lasting, reliable operation.

Each Scotsman machine is built with maximum user-friendliness in mind and has been designed from the ground up to be installation and maintenance friendly. The new MF models are no exception. Built with 'scotch-brite' finish stainless steel frames and side panels for rust-free durability and hygiene, the new models feature side panels with rounded corners for enhanced ease of cleaning and aesthetics. With an ABS moulded top cover and removable side panels on all four sides for easy maintenance and after-sales service operations.

The electrical control panels, which monitor the production process on the MF models, also feature improved design to enhance equipment performance, ensuring short periodical service down times with low operational and maintenance costs as well as improving safety.

For further ease of use the new MF58 and MF68 models are 'split' variant, modular super-flake ice machines designed for use with a remote condensing unit or central cooling system.

The new MF models are available with various accessories, including KIC side discharge ice chutes and an ICESENSOR infrared ice level sensor. They can also be fitted with a KITTIMERSET timer, which can be set to a weekly schedule to controls the machine's operation.

Using R404A refrigerant the MF machines can be multiplexed with Scotsman's KICMAREXT, a 90cm ice chute extension constructed from ABS. This allows ice to fall into the storage bin/cold room and the orientation of the ice spout can be repositioned onto the side of the machine.
