Hubbard Ice introduce all new Scotsman Superflaker

Hubbard Ice Systems, the UK distributor of worldwide brand leading Scotsman Ice Making Machines has launched an all-new modular superflake ice machine, the MF83 for the food processing and industrial production sectors.
The new high performance MF83 will produce up to 2.3 Tonnes of flake ice in a 24-hour period and has been designed from the ground up to be installation and maintenance friendly.
Featuring reduced overall dimensions (compared to the outgoing Scotsman MF82) and 9% lighter the MF83 is designed to be easier to install and to move around. For further ease of use the MF83 is also available in a 'split' variant for use with a remote condensing unit or central cooling system.
The exterior of the New MF83 is manufactured from stainless steel with a 'scotch-brite' finish and has an ABS moulded top cover. External panels give protection to IP55 standard providing ingress resistance against dust and water jets enabling the machine to be installed in damp areas or food process areas where high pressure water jets are used for cleaning.
Using R404A refrigerant the MF83 can be multiplexed with Scotsmans KICMAREXT (ice chute extension), to allow ice to fall into the storage bin/cold room and the orientation of the ice spout can be repositioned onto the side of the machine.
Both MF83 models feature improved electrical control panels designed to enhance equipment performance.
New features include:
- Electrical supply check on input phase sequence, with alarm light. This control verifies the correct electrical phase sequence. This fail safe device makes it impossible to connect the three electrical connecting cables in the incorrect sequence which can lead to the drive motor rotating in the wrong direction.
- Compressor start delay (drive motor starts immediately). An average 18 minute delay ensures that the drive motor starts before the compressor, ensuring that the auger (drive motor) starts before ice is formed in the evaporator and eliminating the possibility of damage which can occur in the case of a power supply interruption.
- Drive motor stop delay (after compressor stop).
This delay timer ensures that the drive motor (auger) runs for approximately 18 minutes after the compressor has stopped, ensuring that any ice formed in the evaporator after shutdown is removed.
The MF83 range is available with a series of accessories including
- KICMAREXT0001 modular ice chute manufactured from ABS
- ICESENSOR0003 Infrared ice level sensor
- KITTIMER0002 Machine timer capable of scheduling weekly set-up
