Crystal Clear Filtered Ice from Hubbard Ice Systems

12/09/2007

Chris Davis, Commercial Director of Hubbard Ice Systems, the UK distributor of worldwide brand leading Scotsman Ice Machines, says water filters are one of the most critical components of the perfect serve when it comes to presentation but are frequently overlooked when specifying new ice making machinery. He says, "With the market for pre-mixed drinks so huge now, access to ice is even more important. Cafes, pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants are being asked to provide a huge range of both soft and alcoholic drinks. To be enjoyed at their best, these drinks need to be pre-chilled and served over ice. Being able to offer your customer's choice of drink chilled and in the perfect glass over ice will mean that they come back for more - not only on this visit, but with more friends next time."

He continues: "Every food service operator understands the importance of quality ingredients. Ice is 100% water and hard water inhibits the performance of all ice machines, reducing efficiency, increasing energy consumption and producing poor quality, cloudy ice.

"Protecting your ice machine with a water filter makes sound economic sense.

"Hubbard Ice Systems water filters provide a cost-effective solution by removing chlorine, arresting scale and filtering harmful particles as small as 0.5 microns, producing the highest quality ingredient water."

Because presentation is so critical to the commercial success of food outlets Hubbard Ice have created a dedicated website, www.perfectice.co.uk to educate bar staff on ice hygiene and presentation. The site even sets out how to create the perfect drink in a five-step process:

  • Select an appropriate glass for the drink
  • Add a good quantity of solid, clear ice
  • Pour the drink over the ice
  • Add a fruit slice
  • Present the finished product to the customer

Chris Davis says, "These days, ice does more than just aid drinks presentation. The best quality ice chills a drink to the last sip."

Scotsman Ice Machines produce ice that is:

  • Crystal clear because the ice making process means that impurities fall to the bottom of the machine, leaving just the pure water to freeze into the cube.
  • Pure because water is taken direct from the mains, through a Hubbard Ice Systems water filter
  • Solid because of the inverted freezing method, which stops air bubbles from forming inside the cube.
  • Slow melt because the cubes are crystal clear, pure, and solid.
  • Hygienically produced and served because Scotsman ice machines are designed to ensure that the maximum hygiene is observed with the minimum of effort.

Chris Davis adds that, "Using the best quality ice not only means that drinks are presented at their best, but ensures that production is hygienic and cost-efficient, serving the ice is easy and customers will be able to see that the aim of the ice is to chill the drink, not to displace the liquid."

Access to the www.perfectice.co.uk website is free and includes information on perfect ice hygiene, preparing the perfect drink, perfect drink recipes, a machine selector and introduces an ice machine that even produces drinks glasses from perfect, clear ice.
