Rothschild Chateau chooses Scotsman
Waddesdon Manor the UK's finest example of Renaissance-style chateau has installed a Scotsman MC15 Modular Super Cube Ice Maker at the hub of its five catering outlets to serve as a high quality source of bulk ice.
On a hilltop overlooking the Aylesbury Vale, this stunning National Trust property is the last remaining complete example of 'le goût Rothschild' the glamorous style of living that has become synonymous with the name Rothschild. Waddesdon welcomes thousands of visitors each year to one of the finest Victorian gardens in Britain, an Aviary stocked with species that were once part of Baron Ferdinand Rothschild's collection and a world famous Sèvres porcelain collection. Its Wine Cellars, modelled on the private cellars at Château Lafite-Rothschild, contain thousands of bottles of Rothschild wine dating back to the 19th century.
Serving the throngs of visitors from around the world Waddesdon offers a choice of fine dining from simple, fresh food in its Stables Restaurant, traditional, seasonal, European and British dishes in the Manor Restaurant (Les Routiers Wine List of the Year South & South East England 2003), beverages and snacks from the Summerhouse, a Courtyard Coffee Bar and A La Carte dining at the The Five Arrows Hotel, Les Routiers Wine Pub of the Year (London and the South East) 2004.
The Scotsman MC 15 produces up to 170 Kg (8500 cubes) of high quality supercubes each day and stores up to 190 Kg of cubes to serve Waddesdon's outlets on demand. The machine was specified, supplied and installed by Chillaire Isis Ltd., of Carterton, Oxfordshire one of the National Trusts approved suppliers of catering equipment.
