Scale-Ice-Tricks

Hubbard Ice Systems has launched the Eve range of high-output scale ice machines for industrial applications. Manufactured by Scotsman, the world's leading ice machine brand, Eve machines are precision engineered to set new standards of reliability, production and configurability. All are based around high performance static vertical evaporators with rotating blades, delivering top quality scale ice.
Eve models have production capacities from 1,500 up to 24,000 kg per day. They are available in a choice of configurations, including compact or 'split' models, water or air cooled, and, for the fishing industry, there are land based or on board models using fresh or seawater to produce ice.
Both compact and split versions are supplied as standard with a comprehensive control panel featuring a number of safety devices to protect the equipment.
The Eve range is designed to have the flexibility to match the needs of a wide variety of industries, including food processing, transport, fishing, chemical, textile and construction. "In fact, most customers for this type of machine will have unique requirements," says Hubbard Ice Systems Commercial Director Chris Davis. "We have to adapt for the application and the client's system - whether it be in a factory production line, distribution centre or on a boat. So, in almost every case, we configure the 'standard' components of the Eve range to produce a custom-made solution."
Eve models bring major benefits in terms of environment protection, since they are available to suit a number of different refrigerants such as R22, R507, R404A; models with production rates above 5,000Kg are also available for R717.
Eve is designed to carry on working even in extreme conditions. Durability and reliability are ensured by the use of top quality materials. For example, while many competitor models have coated evaporators, the Eve uses AISI304-grade stainless steel, or AISI316 grade for seawater models. Typical of the features delivering superior performance is the water level sensor, which ensures that water flows evenly over the evaporator surface to produce top quality, consistent scale ice.
